Help us transform stories of survival into an international artistic movement for healing, agency, and social change.
Domestic abuse remains one of the most widespread violations of human rights, yet it is too often concealed behind silence, stigma, and fear. Paper Brides was created to shatter that silence.
Through fine art photography, performance, and documentary storytelling, this initiative provides survivors with a platform to reclaim their strength—, transforming experiences of abuse into enduring symbols of courage, resilience, and creative authority.
Co-created by conceptual photographer and visual artist Aida Boldeanu in collaboration with Otilia Mutu—a survivor and the Initiator and CEO of the Lotus Justice & Support Center CIC (the first UK-based support center dedicated to Romanian-speaking survivors of domestic abuse)—, Paper Brides bridges fine art with direct community support.
