Introducing the Fundraiser
When Ivča finished school at the age of 27, she thought her life was just beginning.
Instead of plans for the future, she received a diagnosis – multiple sclerosis.
Today, Ivča is 34 years old and has been battling a disease that can change her life at any moment for almost 7 years.
We are setting up this fundraiser as her friends, because we don’t want her to face this fight alone. We want to help her undergo a treatment that can give her hope for a more stable and fulfilling life.
At first glance, Ivča looks healthy. She smiles, goes to work, and tries to live like everyone else. But in reality, every day she fights a disease that gradually steals her strength, confidence, and freedom. Fatigue, pain, and the uncertainty of whether her body will fail her again are part of her daily life.
Despite previous treatments, the disease remains active. Every day, she faces the question of what it might take from her next.
Who We Are Helping
We are helping Ivča – our friend, who is trying to live a normal life despite her serious illness. She goes to work even when her energy is running low. There are days when she can barely get out of bed and needs to take a moment to rest. Unfortunately, this also affects her ability to earn an income.
Multiple sclerosis is not just about fatigue. A worsening of the disease could mean losing the ability to walk, needing a wheelchair, or severe vision impairment.
These are not distant possibilities – they are real risks Ivča faces every day.
She doesn’t want to wait until one of these scenarios becomes reality. She wants to take action now, while she still has the best chance to influence the course of the disease.
Ivča loves life, is positive, and never complains – even when she is in pain. She dreams of an ordinary life, of peace, independence, and the ability to plan her future without constant fear.
Her kindness and generosity are rare in today’s world.
What the Funds Will Be Used For
The money from this fundraiser will be used for an autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant (aHSCT) at a specialized clinic abroad.
According to current medical knowledge, this is the most effective treatment available for multiple sclerosis.
For Ivča, it would mean a chance to stay independent, maintain her ability to walk and see, and live a life no longer dictated by fear of further deterioration. It would give her the opportunity to plan her future with greater certainty and hope.
The total cost of the treatment is €53,000. Unfortunately, this treatment is not covered by public health insurance, which is why we, as her friends, have decided to ask for help.
If, thanks to your generosity, more funds are raised than needed, the excess will be used to support another fundraiser on Donio that helps people with serious health issues.
We don’t want her to face this fight alone. We see the fatigue, stress, and uncertainty the disease brings, alongside her enormous determination not to give up.
Every contribution – no matter how small – can help give Ivča a chance to halt the progression of her disease.
Thank you for helping give Ivča hope. 💙
If the entire amount cannot be raised, all funds obtained will be used to cover part of the treatment costs. The remaining costs will be covered from personal resources and with the help of family.
