We are releasing an album that is hard to fit into a particular category. We approached six friends – contemporary composers whose music we have combined with the music of the old masters. We play historical instruments and we can say without exaggeration that this is also our music – we have approached old and new pieces in our own way, in our interpretation we blur the need for historical authenticity or the cult of the composer – it's about the music and the experience it evokes in us.
Here are samples of some of the pieces we recorded for this album:
(222) Breton tradition – La Blanche Biche (arr. Plaisirs de Musique) / Jan Cizmar & Marta Kratochvilova – YouTube – Korea 2024
Catalan traditional melody – La cançó del lladre / Jan Cizmar & Marta Kratochvilova – Korea 2024
S. M. C Leopold I / J. H. Schmelzer: Ciaccona in G major. – Korea 2024
Plaisirs de Musique | Primer Festival Internacional de Música Antigua Dei Fiori – Chile 2024
La Cançó Del Lladre (feat. Marta Kratochvílová & Jan Čižmář) – ALMA 2024

The project is not just about us – Marta Kratochvílová (traverso) a Jan Čižmář (lute, theorbo).
Very important are the contributions of our friends – composers Štěpán Rak (*1945), Jean van Vugt (*1958), František Lukáš (*1977), Marian Friedl (*1979), Pau Canyigueral (*1982), Lukáš Sommer (*1984).
We recorded in Belgium, in the beautiful chapel of the former Rosario Monastery – thanks for the great support to our friends Johan Vriend and Sophie Leconte.
Not only the concert venue where we will release the CD, but also our long-standing friendship with PF Café - František and Petra Nečas.
We also draw inspiration from performing and sharing the musical world we created together with Misterios del Amor – Eliška Tesařová and Beatriz Lafont Murcía.
Visually, the CD was created by Lucie Vrhelová – Kutululu graphic studio and the photographs taken by Vít Starka at the old wall of our house.
The CD is already recorded, together with the sound engineer (Jean van Vugt) we spent a few inspiring days in October 2024 in the beautiful and acoustically ideal Rosario Monastery Chapel in Belgium. We have just finished the booklet and are planning the release for the end of June (the first concert where we will perform it will be on 26 June 2025). Of the total costs, we only have to cover the printing of the CD and the booklet and the cost of the graphics. But this collection is mainly intended as an opportunity to preorder the album and participate in its creation or get closer to what we do as artists. It will also support the presentation of the great work of composers, because their music really deserves it.
