Šachová hra spojuje hráče různých národů, věku, zdravé i ty s hendikepem.
Během roku hraje pravidelně 1. ligu mládeže i krajskou soutěž s dospělými z oddílu TJ Ostrava.
Vedle plavání a hraní šachu, navštěvuje Kuba gymnázium.
🌎 Who are we helping?
„Kuba is a kind, friendly boy, a great fighter with his heart in the right place. A true gentleman who is always happy to help,“ said Alex Borská, a Paralympic representative and Kuba's swimming partner.
Anyone who knows Kuba knows that he is not only an excellent swimmer but also a chess player.
In swimming, he has won a total of 5 bronze medals at the World Games for Athletes with Disabilities. At the World Chess Championship, he placed 6th among players under 18, and at the Czech Republic Championship, he secured 3rd place overall. Chess brings together players of different nationalities, ages, both healthy and those with disabilities.
Throughout the year, he regularly plays in the 1st Youth League and the regional competition with adults from the TJ Ostrava club. Besides swimming and playing chess, Kuba attends a gymnasium. He likes biology, mathematics, and would one day like to pursue sports psychology.
Who is organizing the collection?
The collection for Kuba is organized and supported by Mramor z.s., in collaboration with the Medical Faculty of the University of Ostrava and the Pavel Novotný Endowment Fund. We see in Kuba a young, motivated athlete who certainly deserves support.
What specifically will the funds from this collection be used for?
This year, Kuba would also like to participate in the World Chess Championship in Armenia from July 19th to 28th. The necessary expenses for accommodation, meals, and transportation amount to 55,000 CZK, and the preparation with an individual coach costs 15,000 CZK.
„For Kuba, in addition to the demanding swimming training, where he swims up to 15 km a week, regular massages and physical preparation are also important,“ shares Bohumil Vaněk, Kuba's father.
Considering the demanding physical preparation, Kuba needs sports massages, physiotherapy, and dry training. These costs can reach up to 33,000 CZK annually.
