Ničivé povodně v Nepálu připravily tisíce dětí o domov, bezpečí a možnost chodit do školy. Nejméně 69 škol bylo poškozeno nebo zničeno a vzdělávání téměř 19 000 dětí je ohroženo. Tyto děti se potřebují co nejrychleji vrátit k bezpečí, pravidelnému životu a naději na budoucnost.
Jako studenti International School of Prague jsme proto spojili síly prostřednictvím Happy Hearts Future Leaders a organizace Musíš to Říct (Speak Out). Společně s Nadačním fondem Happy Hearts zakládáme tuto sbírku na obnovu poškozených škol, vybavení tříd a bezpečný návrat nepálských dětí ke vzdělávání.
Naším cílem je vybrat 5 000 000 Kč. Celý výtěžek bude vyplacen přímo Nadačnímu fondu Happy Hearts, který v Nepálu působí od roku 2015. Jeho krizový tým dorazil na místo během prvních 24 hodin po katastrofě a nadále poskytuje nezbytnou pomoc zasaženým komunitám.

The devastating floods in Nepal have left thousands of children without homes, safety and access to education. At least 69 schools have been damaged or destroyed, putting the education of nearly 19,000 children at risk. These children urgently need to regain safety, stability and hope for the future.
As students of the International School of Prague, we have joined forces through Happy Hearts Future Leaders and Musíš to Říct (Speak Out). Together with the Happy Hearts Foundation, we are launching this fundraiser to rebuild damaged schools, equip classrooms and help Nepali children return to education safely.
Our goal is to raise CZK 5,000,000. The entire amount raised will be transferred directly to the Happy Hearts Foundation, which has worked in Nepal since 2015. Its emergency response team reached the affected area within the first 24 hours of the disaster and continues to provide essential assistance to impacted communities.

Dne 26. srpna 2026 zasáhla oblast na hranici Nepálu a Tibetu mimořádně ničivá přívalová povodeň. Proud vody, bahna a kamení ničil celé obce, domovy, silnice i základní infrastrukturu. Mnoho rodin během několika okamžiků přišlo o všechno.
Katastrofa mimořádně tvrdě zasáhla děti. Nejméně 69 škol bylo poškozeno nebo zničeno a vzdělávání téměř 19 000 dětí je ohroženo. Skutečný rozsah škod může být ještě vyšší, protože některé oblasti zůstávají obtížně dostupné.
Škola po katastrofě není pouze místem pro výuku. Vrací dětem každodenní rytmus, pocit jistoty a kontakt s kamarády a učiteli. Pomáhá jim vyrovnávat se s traumatem a zároveň může sloužit jako bezpečný opěrný bod pro celou komunitu.
Školy, které Happy Hearts v Nepálu dříve vybudoval s důrazem na dlouhodobou odolnost, povodním odolaly. Naším cílem je, aby podobně bezpečnou školu získaly i další komunity v ohrožených oblastech.
Pomoc bude prostřednictvím Nadačního fondu Happy Hearts směřovat k dětem a školním komunitám v postižených částech Nepálu. Sbírku iniciovali studenti z International School of Prague, působící v organizacích Musíš to Říct a Happy Hearts Future Leaders. Nadační fond Happy Hearts je jeho odborným garantem a přímým příjemcem výtěžku.
Chceme dětem pomoci vrátit to, co jim katastrofa vzala: bezpečí, vzdělání a naději na budoucnost. Pomozme jim vrátit se do škol bezpečně a co nejrychleji.

On 26 August 2026, an exceptionally destructive flash flood struck the region along the Nepal–Tibet border. Water, mud and rocks swept through entire communities, destroying homes, roads and essential infrastructure. Many families lost everything within moments.
Children have been among those most severely affected. At least 69 schools have been damaged or destroyed, putting the education of nearly 19,000 children at risk. The true extent of the damage may be even greater, as some affected areas remain difficult to reach.
After a disaster, a school is far more than a place of learning. It restores children’s daily routine, sense of security, and contact with friends and teachers. It helps them process trauma and can also serve as a safe and resilient centre for the entire community.
Schools previously built by Happy Hearts in Nepal with long-term resilience in mind withstood the floods. Our goal is to help more communities in vulnerable areas gain access to similarly safe schools.
Through the Happy Hearts Foundation, the funds will support children and school communities in the affected regions of Nepal. The fundraiser was initiated by students of the International School of Prague involved in Happy Hearts Future Leaders and Musíš to Říct. (Speak Out). The Happy Hearts Foundation is the project’s expert guarantor and the direct recipient of all funds raised.

Na co konkrétně budou peníze z této sbírky použity?

Cílem sbírky je vybrat 5 000 000 Kč. Celý výtěžek bude vyplacen přímo Nadačnímu fondu Happy Hearts a použit na pomoc školám a dětem v oblastech Nepálu postižených povodněmi.
Předpokládané využití prostředků:
- ~60 % na opravy, rekonstrukci a obnovu poškozených škol a vytvoření bezpečných prostor pro výuku;
- ~20 % na vybavení tříd, včetně lavic, židlí, tabulí a dalšího nezbytného školního nábytku;
- ~10 % na učebnice, sešity, psací potřeby, školní batohy a další pomůcky;
- ~10 % na dočasné výukové prostory, hygienické a bezpečnostní vybavení, dopravu materiálu a další náklady přímo související s realizací pomoci.
Konečné rozdělení prostředků určí Happy Hearts podle aktuálních potřeb, odborného posouzení škod a skutečných nákladů v místě.
Pokud se vybere méně, budou peníze použity přednostně na nejnaléhavější opravy, bezpečné výukové prostory a základní vybavení. Pokud se vybere více, prostředky pomohou obnovit a vybavit další postižené školy.
O využití prostředků a průběhu pomoci budeme dárce pravidelně informovat prostřednictvím aktualit sbírky.
ENGLISH VERSION
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise CZK 5,000,000. The entire amount raised will be transferred directly to the Happy Hearts Foundation and used to support schools and children in the flood-affected regions of Nepal.
The anticipated use of funds is:
- ~60% for the repair, reconstruction and restoration of damaged schools and the creation of safe learning spaces;
- ~20% for classroom equipment, including desks, chairs, boards and other essential school furniture;
- ~10% for textbooks, notebooks, writing materials, school bags and other educational supplies;
- ~10% for temporary learning spaces, hygiene and safety equipment, transportation of materials and other costs directly related to delivering the assistance.
The final allocation will be determined by Happy Hearts according to current needs, professional assessments of the damage and actual local costs.
If less than the target is raised, the funds will prioritise the most urgent repairs, safe learning spaces and essential equipment. If the target is exceeded, the additional funds will support the restoration and equipment of further affected schools.
We will keep donors regularly informed about the use of the funds and the progress of the assistance through updates on the fundraiser page.
