Adriana. To je jméno mladé slečny, kterou bychom Vám rádi chtěli představit. Adriana je dvacetiletá slečna, která to v životě neměla nikdy lehké, ale stále neztrácí naději na lepší život.

Adriana. That is the name of the young lady we would like to introduce to you. Adriana is a twenty years old girl who has never had an easy life, but she still does not lose hope for a better future.

Už odmala se Adriana potýká s nelehkým osudem. Trápí ji kombinované postižení. Trpí hereditární degenerativní progresivní chorobou zvanou Charcot-Marie-Toothův syndrom. Degenerativní změny se týkají jak motorické, tak senzorické složky. Změny jsou nejvýraznější na dolních končetinách. Netýká se avšak jenom dolních končetin, ale i horních končetin a především ovlivňuje a komplikuje každodenní život. Mezi běžné symptomy patří slabosti nohou, kotníků, chodidel a rukou, ztráta svalů na nohou a chodidlech, únava, bolestivé křeče, ztráta hybnosti končetin, vysoká klenba chodidel, zkrácená Achillova šlacha, zkroucené prsty (tzv. kladívkové prsty), časté zakopávání a pády, a ztráta citu v rukou a nohou. Jedná se o oslabení svalů na periferii dolních končetin, které vede k přepadávání špiček, zakopávání, pádům a později znemožňuje i samostatnou chůzi. Při další progresi onemocnění se objevují strukturální deformity nohou. V důsledku svalových atrofií jsou postiženy rovněž funkce rukou, hlavně jemná motorika. Postižení senzitivních nervů vede ke snížení schopnosti rozlišit drobné předměty dotykem nebo odlišit teplé a studené předměty. Dále dochází ke zhoršování funkce senzitivních nervů, které zprostředkovávají vnímání bolesti, doteku, hluboké citlivosti atd.

Aby toho nebylo málo, v deseti letech Adrianě diagnostikovali Crohnovu chorobu a celiakii. Crohnova choroba je autoimunitní chronické onemocnění trávicího traktu. Způsobuje zánětlivé procesy v různých částech trávicí soustavy. Proniká hluboko do vrstev postižené tkáně a může mít bolestivý a oslabující průběh s život ohrožujícími komplikacemi.

Ve dvaceti letech se Adrianě stala nešťastná nehoda, ochrnula na 60% těla a stala se z ní paraplegička odkázaná na invalidní vozík a na pomoc ostatních. Nehoda jí rozdrtila 1. a 2. bederní obratel. Skončila taky se zlomenýma nohama, rozdrcenou patní kostí a zlomeným sternem. Nehoda obrátila Adrianě již tak komplikovaný život naruby, ale nechce se vzdát a chce i nadále zabojovat za důstojný život.

Adriana – velká bojovnice

Adriana již od útlého dětství byla veselá, bystrá, inteligentní a láskyplná dívka, která do všeho dávala své srdce a dokázala podporovat kolem sebe lidi s jejich problémy a motivovat je k lepším zítřkům. I když má sama trápení, tak neváhá pomoci ostatním. Adriana žije jen se svou maminkou, která o ní maximálně pečuje, ale bohužel nejsou v dobré finanční situaci. Vaše podpora ji dá sílu a motivaci pokračovat v započaté cestě.

Who Are You Helping? Adriana's Story

Adriana has been dealing with a difficult fate since she was a child. She has a combined disability. She suffers from a hereditary degenerative progressive disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrome. Degenerative changes concern both motor and sensory components. The changes are most pronounced on the lower limbs, but affects the upper limbs as well, and above all complicates everyday life. Common symptoms include weakness in the legs, ankles, feet and hands, muscle loss in the legs and feet, hand fatigue, painful cramps, loss of limb mobility, high arched feet, shortened Achilles tendon, twisted toes (called hammertoes), frequent tripping and falls, and loss of feeling in hands and feet. It is a weakening of the limbs on the periphery, which leads to tripping, falls and later makes independent walking impossible. As the disease progresses, structural deformities of the legs appear. As a result of muscle atrophy, the functions of the hands are also affected, mainly fine motor skills. Damage to the sensitive nerves leads to a decrease in the ability to distinguish small objects by touch or distinguish between warm and cold objects. Furthermore, the functions of the sensitive nerves that mediate the perception of pain, touch, deep sensitivity, etc., deteriorate.

To make matters worse, Adriana was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and celiac disease at the age of ten. Crohn's disease is an autoimmune chronic disease of the digestive tract. It causes inflammatory processes in various parts of the digestive system. It penetrates deep into the layers of affected tissue and can have a painful and debilitating course with life-threatening complications.

At the age of 20, Adriana had an unfortunate accident, got paralyzed from the waist down and became a paraplegic who is dependent on a wheelchair and the help of others. The accident crushed her 1st and 2nd lumbar vertebrae. She also ended up with broken legs, a crushed heel bone and a broken sternum. The accident turned Adriana's already complicated life upside down, but she doesn't want to give up and wants to continue fighting for a dignified life.

Adriana – the warrior of everyday life

From an early childhood, Adriana was a cheerful, bright, intelligent and affectionate girl who put her heart into everything and was able to support people around her with their problems and motivate them for a better tomorrow. Even if she is suffering herself, she does not hesitate to help others. Adriana lives only with her mother, who takes care of her as much as possible, but unfortunately they are not in a good financial situation. Your support will give her strength and motivation to continue the journey she has started.

Nové bezbariérové zázemí

Adriana se nemá kam vrátit. Nemá na světě jediné místo, kterému by směla říkat „domov“. Byt, ve kterém žila předtím, je ve 3. patře bez výtahu. Aktuálně je v podstatě bez domova. Provizorně pobývá u známých. Toto ale není dlouhodobé řešení. Společnými silami můžeme Adrianě pomoci najít nový domov.

Mechanický invalidní vozík

Adriana je odkázaná na invalidní vozík. Jelikož má hereditární degenerativní progresivní chorobu zvanou Charcot-Marie-Toothův syndrom, která způsobuje slabosti, ztrátu síly, bolestivé křeče a omezení pohybu v horních a dolních končetinách, potřebuje Adriana co nejlehčí invalidní vozík, aby ho byla schopna samostatně ovládat. Takový vozík stojí přes 110.000 korun, z toho si Adriana musí uhradit přibližně 67.000 korun. Jak Adriana sama říká: „Nový vozíček by mi změnil život k lepšímu“.

Lázně a rehabilitace

Zranění Adriany byla tak vážná a rozsáhlá, že musela posledních 8 měsíců procházet intenzivní léčbou v nemocnici a také rehabilitacemi. Aby v nich mohla pokračovat, bude potřebovat finanční pomoc. Pobyt v Jánských Lázních, který by Adrianě velmi pomohl, stojí zhruba 80.000 korun. Doprovod je nutný, za cenu 45.000 korun. Nic z tohoto bohužel není hrazeno pojišťovnou.

Centrum Paraple je doporučováno lékaři, a pomáhá lidem na vozíku po poškození míchy a jejich rodinám zvládnout těžkou životní situaci a napomáhá podpořit lidi na vozíku v jejich samostatnosti a soběstačnosti. Centrum Paraple pořádá třítýdenní turnusy v základní ceně přibližně 23.850 korun. Adrianě je tento pobyt velmi doporučován lékaři, díky tomuto pobytu by nabyla tak toužené samostatnosti.

Přídavný pohon k vozíku

Empulse F55 stojí 95.900 korun. Nic z této částky není bohužel hrazeno pojišťovnou. Adrianino neurologické onemocnění C-M-T omezuje pohyby končetin, a to právě i rukou. Adriana také trpí ztrátou citlivosti a síly v dolních, tak horních končetinách, proto by přídavný pohon k vozíku Adrianě velmi pomohl s její mobilitou.

Speciálně upravený automobil

Aby Adriana mohla být dopravována na lékařské prohlídky a na rehabilitace, bude potřebovat automobil, který bude muset být přizpůsoben jejím potřebám. Jen cena nutné přestavby automobilu stojí 36.200 korun.

Exoskelet pro umožnění chůze ochrnuté osoby

Takzvané elektrické nohy neboli exoskelet představují revoluční řešení pro rehabilitaci osob s ochrnutím dolních končetin. Podporuje pacienty s pasivními pohyby končetin, které napomáhají v procesu zotavení a obnovení schopnosti chůze. Toto rehabilitační zařízení umožňuje postiženým jedincům znovu zažít radost z chůze. Tento exoskelet nehradí pojišťovna a stojí 1.240.000 korun. Adriana by díky Vám opět mohla zažít radost z chůze.

Pokud se nepodaří vybrat cílová částka, pokusíme se o co nejefektivnější využití vybraných financí. Naopak při překročení dané částky by se uhradilo bezbariérové zázemí pro Adrianu. Adriana by díky Vaší pomoci konečně mohla najít nový domov.

How Will Your Donation Help Adriana?

New Barrier-free Home

Adriana has nowhere to return. She has no place to call „home“. The apartment she lived in before is on the 3rd floor without an elevator. She is currently essentially homeless. Adriana is temporarily staying with friends. But this is not a long-term solution. Together we can help Adriana find a new home.

Mechanical Wheelchair

Adriana is confined to a wheelchair. She has a hereditary degenerative progressive disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth Syndrome, which causes soreness, loss of strength, pain and restriction of movement in the upper and lower limbs, and because of that Adriana needs the lightest possible wheelchair so she can control it independently. Such a wheelchair costs around €4,370 (approximately 110,000 CZK), and Adriana has to pay €2,662 (approximately 67,000 CZK). As Adriana says herself: „A new wheelchair would change my life for the better“.

Rehabilitation

Adriana's injuries were so serious and extensive that she had to undergo intensive hospital treatment and rehabilitation for the past 8 months. She will need financial help to continue. A stay in Jánské Lázně, which would be very helpful to Adriana, costs approximately €3,179 (80,000 CZK). Accompaniment is required, at a cost of €1,788 (45,000 CZK). Unfortunately, none of this is covered by the insurance.

The Paraple Center in Prague is recommended by doctors and helps people in wheelchairs after spinal cord injury and their families in coping with a difficult life situation and helps support people in wheelchairs with their independence and self-sufficiency. The Paraple Center organizes three-week courses at a basic price of approximately €948 (23,850 CZK). This stay is highly recommended by Adriana's doctor, thanks to this stay she would gain the much-desired independence.

Wheelchair Power Attachment

The Empulse F55 costs €3,810 (95,900 CZK). Unfortunately, none of this amount is covered by the insurance. Adriana's C-M-T neurological disease limits the movements of her limbs, including her hands. Adriana also suffers from a loss of sensitivity and strength in both her lower and upper limbs, so an additional attachment to the wheelchair would greatly help Adriana with her mobility.

A Specially Modified Car

In order to transport Adriana to medical appointments and rehabilitation, she will need a car that will have to be adapted to her needs. The price of the necessary car conversion costs €1,438 (36,200 CZK).

An Exoskeleton To Enable a Paralyzed Person To Walk

The so-called electric legs or exoskeleton represent a revolutionary solution for the rehabilitation of people with paralysis of the lower limbs. It supports patients with passive movements of the limbs, which help in the process of recovery and restoration of the ability to walk. This rehabilitation device allows disabled individuals to experience the joy of walking again. This exoskeleton is not covered by the insurance company and costs €49,268 (1,240,000 CZK). Thanks to you, Adriana could experience the joy of walking again.

If it is not possible to raise the targeted amount of money, we will try to use the raised funds as efficiently as possible. On the contrary, if the raised sum is exceeded, barrier-free home for Adriana would be paid for. Thanks to your help, Adriana could finally find her forever home.

Together We Can Change Adriana's Life For The Better

Adriana is a young lady who has her whole life ahead of her. With your help, we can prove to Adriana that she is not alone in this difficult life situation and we can give her a fulfilling life.

Adriana will celebrate her 21st birthday at the end of the year. If the funds was raised, her biggest birthday wish would come true and she could start a new life. She would already celebrate her birthday in a new barrier-free home, which she would finally be allowed to call „home“.
