Hi, my name is Catalina,
In 2018, I rescued Azura together with her 3 newborn kittens; I planned to foster the kittens and find them homes, but no one showed serious interest, and by the time they were 3 months old, I decided to officially adopt them all.
Since then, they have become my family, my heart, and my main reason for living. I'd say that I didn't save them, they saved me.
They have been there for me through thick and thin, so when I found a small tumor in Azura's mouth that grew at an alarming rate last October, I knew that I had to do my best to give her the best chance she could have of defeating whatever would come her way…
The diagnosis: Salivary gland adenocarcinoma with metastasis risk.
I was able to provide the help up until now, but I'm running out of resources; so at the advice of the incredibly loving people in my online circles, I have created this campaign for her, my soul cat.

V roce 2018 jsem zachránila Azuru spolu s jejími 3 novorozenými kotěty; plánovala jsem si koťata pouze vzít na přechodnou dobu a najít jim domovy, ale nikdo neprojevil vážný zájem a když jim bylo 3 měsíce, rozhodla jsem se je všechny oficiálně adoptovat.
Od té doby se staly mou rodinou, mým srdcem a hlavním důvodem mého života. Řekla bych, že jsem je nezachránila já, ale ony mě zachránily.
Byly pro mě tam v dobách hojnosti i nouze, takže když jsem v říjnu loňského roku našla malý nádor v Azuřině ústech, který velmi rychle rostl, věděla jsem, že musím udělat vše pro to, abych jí dala nejlepší šanci na to, aby se s čímkoliv, co by mohlo přijít, vypořádala…
Diagnóza: Adenokarcinom slinných žláz s rizikem metastáz.
Až doposud jsem jí mohla poskytnout potřebnou pomoc, ale zdroje se mi vyčerpávají; proto jsem na radu neuvěřitelně milých lidí z mých online komunit založila tuto sbírku, pro ni, mou duševní kočku.
Komu pomůžeme?
Salivary gland cancer is rare in cats, accounting for less than 0.2% of all feline tumors.
She had surgery to remove the primary tumor on her left side, but she tore out her stitches, so she had to go for surgery a second time.
Once we had the preliminary histology results, we were referred to the clinic RegiaVet, where she was then taken under the care of MVDr. Vladimira Tepla and Renata Kratochvilova. There, she underwent a third surgery to remove her left lymphatic node.
Given her age of around 10 years, my biggest concern was if she has the energy and an otherwise healthy body to fight, but not only did she pass the blood test with flying colors, she still has the energy to play, eat, and cuddle as if nothing is wrong.
This gives me big hopes for her recovery. It tells me she wants to spend many more years with her babies, who are not so babies anymore, and with me.
Rakovina slinných žláz je u koček vzácná a představuje méně než 0,2 % všech kočičích nádorů.
Podstoupila operaci k odstranění primárního nádoru na levé straně, ale vytrhla si stehy, takže musela na operaci podruhé.
Jakmile jsme měli předběžné výsledky histologie, byli jsme odkázáni do kliniky RegiaVet, kde se jí ujali MVDr. Vladimíra Teplá a Renata Kratochvilová. Tam podstoupila třetí operaci na odstranění levé lymfatické uzliny.
Vzhledem k jejímu věku kolem 10 let byla mojí největší obavou, zda má sílu a jinak zdravé tělo na to, aby bojovala, ale nejen že obstála v krevním testu na jedničku, stále má energii hrát si, jíst a mazlit se, jako by se nic nestalo.
To mi dává velkou naději na její uzdravení. Říká mi to, že chce se mnou a jejími potomky, kteří už nejsou tak malí, strávit ještě mnoho let.
