Ahoj! Jmenuji se Lucie Kačerová (21) a mým velkým snem je starat se a zachovávat naše i světové kulturní dědictví. A dovoluji si Vás oslovit s prosbou o pomoc na mé cestě na magisterské studium na University College London (UCL) ve Velké Británii, jedné z nejlepších škol v Británii, tak i ve světě, kde jsem byla přijata ke studiu oboru Digital Humanities, ve kterém se škola řadí na 6. místo v celosvětovém žebříčku.
Jmenuji se Lucie Kačerová a pocházím z Pardubic. V 18 letech jsem se vydala studovat do Irska, kde jsem úspěšně dokončila bakalářské studium. Tato tříletá zkušenost mi dala mnohé a i s mými akademickými výsledky to přispělo tomu, že mě na UCL přijali. Financování v Irsku nebylo lehké, ale díky tomu, že je v Evropské unii a brigádě, jsem byla schopná se o sebe postarat sama, to bohužel nyní nezvládnu a proto žádám Vás. Moje rodina, ač velice podporující mi finančně nemůže pomoci, protože můj otec je v důchodu po těžké srdeční operaci a matka je samoživitelka mých dvou mladších sourozenců.
Digital Humanities je obor, který propojuje humanitní vědy s moderními technologiemi, a tím otevírá nové možnosti pro výzkum, vzdělávání a zachování kulturního dědictví. Studovat tento obor na jedné z nejprestižnějších univerzit na světě je pro mě obrovskou příležitostí, která mi umožní nejen získat špičkové vzdělání, ale také přispět k rozvoji kulturního a akademického života u nás doma.
Mezi hlavní důvody, proč věřím, že by mělo být mé studium podpořeno, patří:
1. Zachování a zpřístupnění kulturního dědictví: Digital Humanities se zabývá digitalizací a ochranou historických a kulturních artefaktů, což umožňuje jejich zachování pro budoucí generace. S pomocí moderních technologií lze tato data efektivně analyzovat a zpřístupnit širší veřejnosti.
2. Podpora vzdělávání: Integrace digitálních technologií do výuky a výzkumu umožňuje vytváření interaktivních a inovativních vzdělávacích materiálů. To zvyšuje kvalitu vzdělávání a motivuje studenty k hlubšímu zájmu o historii, literaturu a další humanitní obory.
3. Využití technologií pro lepší pochopení společnosti: Kombinace humanitních věd a digitálních technologií umožňuje komplexnější analýzu společenských trendů a fenoménů. To může přinést nové poznatky, které pomohou lépe pochopit současné výzvy a hledat efektivní řešení.
4. Inspirace pro mladší generace: Úspěch ve studiu na UCL může sloužit jako inspirace pro další mladé lidi z České republiky, kteří by rádi následovali mé kroky a usilovali o dosažení svých akademických a profesních cílů na mezinárodní úrovni.
Studium na UCL je finančně náročné, mé školné se pohybuje ve výši 31 100 GBP (938 000Kč) a náklady na žití jsou v rozmezí 14–15 000 GBP (420–450 000Kč). Po usilovném a dlouhém snažení se na akademickém poli a úspěšném napsání bakalářské práce, jsem se přihlásila o stipendium na UCL, na základě výsledků z předchozí univerzity a finanční tísni, to mi bylo uděleno ve výši 15 000 GBP (452 000Kč). I přes tento úžasný úspěch si nemohu celkovou financi studia dovolit.
Proto bych Vás chtěla požádat o podporu, která mi umožní plně se soustředit na studium a využít všechny nabízené příležitosti. Vaše příspěvky budou použity hlavně na pokrytí školného a dalších školních poplatků. Věřím, že investice do mého vzdělání přinese dlouhodobé přínosy nejen pro mě osobně, ale i pro širší společnost.Pokud možno na začátek pro mé ubytování, učební materiály a další nezbytné výdaje spojené se studiem v zahraničí. V případě, že by se vybrala částka vyšší, než jakou použiji na zaplacení školného a životních nákladů za rok studia, celou přebytečnou částku bych darovala jednomu ze zveřejněných projektů Donia.

Hi! My name is Lucie Kačerová (21) and my big dream is to care for and preserve our and the world's cultural heritage. And I take the liberty of reaching out to you with a request for help on my way to a master's degree at University College London (UCL) in Great Britain, one of the best schools in Britain as well as in the world, where I was accepted to the field of Digital Humanities, in which the school ranks 6th in the global ranking.
My name is Lucie Kačerová and I come from Pardubice. At the age of 18, I went to study in Ireland, where I completed my bachelor's degree. This three-year experience gave me a lot, and even with my academic results, it contributed to my acceptance at UCL. Funding in Ireland was not easy, but thanks to the fact that it is in the European Union and the brigade, I was able to take care of myself, unfortunately I can't do it now and that's why I'm asking you. My family, although very supportive, cannot help me financially as my father is retired after a major heart operation and my mother is a single mother to my two younger siblings.
Digital Humanities is a field that connects the humanities with modern technologies, thereby opening up new possibilities for research, education and preservation of cultural heritage. Studying this field at one of the most prestigious universities in the world is a huge opportunity for me, which will allow me not only to get a top-notch education, but also to contribute to the development of cultural and academic life in our country.
The main reasons why I believe my studies should be supported include:
1. Preservation and accessibility of cultural heritage: Digital Humanities deals with the digitization and preservation of historical and cultural artefacts, enabling their preservation for future generations. With the help of modern technologies, this data can be efficiently analyzed and made available to the wider public.
2. Supporting education: The integration of digital technologies into teaching and research enables the creation of interactive and innovative educational materials. This increases the quality of education and motivates students to take a deeper interest in history, literature and other humanities.
3. Use of technology for a better understanding of society: The combination of humanities and digital technologies enables a more comprehensive analysis of social trends and phenomena. This can bring new insights that will help to better understand current challenges and seek effective solutions.
4. Inspiration for younger generations: Success in studying at UCL can serve as inspiration for other young people from the Czech Republic who would like to follow in my footsteps and strive to achieve their academic and professional goals at the international level.
Studying at UCL is financially demanding, my tuition fees are £31,100 (CZK 938,000) and living costs are in the range of £14–15,000 (CZK 420–450,000). After hard and long efforts in the academic field and successfully writing my bachelor's thesis, I applied for a scholarship at UCL, based on the results from the previous university and financial hardship, it was awarded to me in the amount of £15,000 (CZK 452,000). Despite this amazing success, I cannot afford the total funding of the study.
Therefore, I would like to ask you for support that will allow me to fully concentrate on my studies and take advantage of all the opportunities offered. Your contributions will mainly be used to cover tuition and other school fees. I believe that investing in my education will bring long-term benefits not only for me personally, but also for the wider society. If possible, to start with my accommodation, teaching materials and other necessary expenses associated with studying abroad. If an amount higher than what I use to pay tuition and living expenses for the year of study is collected, I would donate the entire excess to one of the published Donio projects.
