Introduction to the campaign
Yevhen Chikunov is a 31-year-old soldier from Horishni Plavni, Poltava region. Before the war, he worked as a truck driver, and first joined the military in 2016, fighting on the Luhansk front. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he returned to Ukraine’s Defense Forces, carrying out missions in Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions.
On October 6, 2024, during a mortar attack in Donetsk region, Yevhen suffered severe burns to his face and hands, covering around 20% of his body. His injuries included the traumatic amputation of his left ear, deformation of the right ear, and acoustic trauma.
Since May 2025, Yevhen has been undergoing surgeries and dozens of hours of occupational therapy at Superhumans Lviv. While doctors have already helped him partially restore the function of his hands, he now faces multiple reconstructive surgeries of his face and ears. In his free time, he practices yoga with other veterans and finds comfort in his little dog Lima, recently gifted by friends.
Who we will help
We will help Yevhen, who despite severe injuries and a long recovery process, has never lost his determination or hope. His story is one of courage, resilience, and love for life. With your support, he can undergo the necessary surgeries and reintegrate fully into society.
What the funds will be used for
The funds raised — 20,000 EUR — will cover a series of reconstructive surgeries on Yevhen’s face, neck, and ears, helping him regain both function and dignity.
