Hey everyone!
We are Midnight Honeycake, a Czech-American band from Prague playing alternative / indie rock (or something like that, it's hard to put it into a box).
Two musicians walk into a bar in Prague, they meet in the restroom…
Okay – it might sound like an odd start to a joke, but that’s where the first two members of the band met, in the restroom of an underground music club in Prague. In early 2022, Justin (from Vacaville, California) and David (from Chomutov, Czech Republic) met during the break of Justin’s gig at the time, bonding over music and the prospects of maybe making music together sometime . Some time passed, but eventually they met a few times to play guitar and three weeks later they were standing on a stage together at that same underground club where they met. Justin had been playing gigs at this club as a solo act, but one day had the idea to try to make it a duel guitar gig with David, and sure enough David agreed to join that night…but maybe something was missing…and David proposed the idea of having his friend Lukáš join on the drums with very little time before the gig started. And so it happened that the first „rehearsal“ together was actually a first concert for what would later become Midnight Honeycake.
That band came together by chance, and are now pursuing their modest goal = to record an album that will send everyone to the moon.
