Minulý rok se u mě začaly objevovat potíže se svěděním oka a pravé půlky čela. Praktická lékařka mě po několika měsících poslala k neuroložce, která mi vypsala žádanku na magnetickou rezonanci. Když jsem si šel pro výsledky o týden později, opravdu jsem nečekal, že na zprávě uvidím slovo „tumor“. V tento den se mi změnil život a všechno ostatní šlo stranou.
Jsem lektor anglického jazyka a ze dne na den jsem musel všem svým klientům oznámit, že je nebudu moci na nějakou dobu učit. Poté začaly kolečka všech možných českých i zahraničních neurochirurgů, abych se poradil, co dál. Někteří totiž říkali, že operace je pro mě natolik nebezpečná, že si na ni netroufají, a doporučují pouze observaci nádoru. Nakonec jsem do operace šel, a to v Ústřední vojenské nemocnici v Praze pod vedením prof. Netuky. Nicméně nádor bohužel nešel vyoperovat, a to ani z malé části, jelikož by hrozilo ochrnutí a v horším případě smrt. Udělala se pouze biopsie a vzorek byl poslán na další zkoumání, které celkově trvalo 4 měsíce.
Nyní je situace taková, že mě tento „nepřítel“ denně omezuje. Mám bolesti celé pravé půlky těla, na které žádné léky nezabírají. Úplně jsem ztratil cit v pravé ruce, takže nemohu například psát a na klávesnici píšu pouze levou rukou, což je u mé práce lektora dost omezující. I tuto sbírku píšu levou rukou a trvá to věčnost :-) Také se mi hůře chodí na pravé noze, která mě bolí, a nezvládám delší chůze. Jsem psychicky mnohem méně odolný a neustále unavený, což je opět velká nevýhoda u mé práce. Snažím se alespoň trochu pracovat, ale učím už pouze tak z 20 %. Kdysi jsem zvládal i 11 lekcí denně. Nejhorší je brnění (mravenčení) ruky, které běžný člověk zná, ale ví, že trvá jen pár sekund či minut, ale mě pravá ruka brní v podstatě neustále.
Výsledky biopsie ukázaly, že se jedná o astrocytom a byla indikována radioterapie a chemoterapie. Typ a lokace mého nádoru jsou velmi vzácné, má je pouze pár lidí v republice, a i ve světovém žebříčku se řadí mezi velmi vzácné. Obojí mě teprve čeká, ale už teď je jasné, že to bude poměrně nebezpečné, právě kvůli tomu, že se nádor nachází v tak choulostivém prostoru. Bylo mi řečeno, že můj celkový stav a neurologické potíže se mohou zhoršit, a tudíž prognóza je velmi nejasná.

Last year, I began experiencing issues with itching in my eye and the right side of my forehead. After several months, my general practitioner referred me to a neurologist, who ordered an MRI. When I went to pick up the results a week later, I honestly did not expect to see the word „tumor“ on the report. That day, my life changed, and everything else took a backseat. I am an English language teacher, and overnight, I had to tell all my clients that I would not be able to teach them for some time. Then, the rounds of consultations with Czech and foreign neurosurgeons began to figure out the next steps. Some of them said that surgery was too risky for me, and they recommended just observing the tumor. In the end, I decided to go ahead with the surgery, which took place at the Military University Hospital in Prague under the supervision of Professor Netuka. Unfortunately, the tumor could not be removed, not even partially, because of the risk of paralysis and, in the worst case, death. Only a biopsy was performed, and the sample was sent for further examination, which took a total of 4 months. Currently, my situation is that this „enemy“ limits me daily. I have pain in the entire right side of my body, and no medication has helped. I have a complete right hand numbness, so I can't write, and I only type with my left hand, which is quite limiting for my job as a teacher. I am typing this fundraiser using my left hand, and it’s taking forever 
I also have difficulty walking because my right leg hurts, and I can't manage long walks. I am much less mentally resilient and constantly tired, which is another big disadvantage in my job. I try to work a little, but I am only able to teach about 20%. At one point, I used to manage 11 lessons a day. The worst part is the tingling (pins and needles) in my hand, which a normal person experiences, but it only lasts for a few seconds or minutes, whereas my right hand tingles almost constantly. The biopsy results showed that it is an astrocytoma, and radiation therapy and chemotherapy have been indicated. The type and location of my tumor are very rare, with only a few people in the country having it, and it ranks among the very rare cases globally. Both treatments are ahead of me, and it is already clear that they will be quite dangerous due to the tumor's delicate location. I was told that my overall condition and neurological issues could worsen, so the prognosis is very unclear.
