S vaší pomocí by Janka mohla místo čtyř stěn každé ráno vidět oblohu, cítit trávu a vnímat vůni květů na zahrádce. Mohla by být alespoň částečně součástí života, který je pro nás ostatní samozřejmostí. Dopřejme tyto vzácné okamžiky i nevyléčitelně nemocné Jance a dejme jí možnost dýchat čerstvý vzduch častěji.
„Mým největším snem je ležet venku na trávě a místo čtyř stěn se dívat na stromy a modré nebe,“ uzavírá Janka.
Druhá část financí by pokryla nákladné neurorehabilitace, trigger point terapie a kompenzační pomůcky (rehabilitační vozík Convaid EZ Rider), které mohou zmírnit bolesti a zpomalit zhoršování stavu.
„Každá chvíle, kdy se podaří zapomenout, má cenu zlata.“
Proč to má smysl

English description
Sometimes life can change in an instant…
Janka is a young doctor with the most radiant smile you could imagine. She graduated from medical school with honors, dedicating herself to saving lives. In 2022, her life took a devastating turn when she was diagnosed with an incurable disease. This illness has left her almost bedridden and reliant on the very kind of care she had once hoped to provide. At just 27 years old, Janka's life has been turned upside down at a time when she should be thriving. Her greatest wish is to recover, but that currently seems out of reach.
Her Story
Janka was a girl full of life, joy and bright hopes for the future. Her smile could illuminate any room she entered – with every step she took, the room glowed a little more. She dreamed of having a family and children. But despite all this sweetness and hope, she now faces challenges no one should ever have to endure. In 2022, after recovering from an EBV infection, Janka collapsed in an elevator. That moment marked the beginning of a life-changing battle. Instead of celebrating her graduation and starting her career as an emergency doctor, she was thrust into the hardest fight of her life.
When the diagnosis came, it broke our hearts. Janka was diagnosed with encephalomyelitis – a severe neurological disease. This illness brings nothing but despair. It shatters lives, tears apart families, and destroys everything in its path. When the brain – the body’s control center – is affected, the symptoms are unbearable.
„Encephalomyelitis is one of the worst diseases I’ve encountered in my many years of practice,“ said Dr. Peterson, a respected neurologist.
Janka suffers from severe vertigo, debilitating fevers, impaired coordination and left-sided hemiparesis. The relentless pain often brings her to tears. Everyday sounds, lights, and movements – even something as small as a passing car or turning on a light – can cause her to lose consciousness. She is unable to watch TV, read a book, listen to music, or interact with friends – activities every other disease allows. Her isolation is profound. Janka describes it best: „I feel like a prisoner, but I don’t know what I’ve been imprisoned for.“
Why We Need Your Help
Despite undergoing numerous treatments – from powerful combined immunosuppressive therapy to sessions in a hyperbaric chamber – there has been no improvement. All treatment options have been exhausted, and her condition remains incurable. Yet the strength and determination she shows in her fight are truly inspiring. This devastating disease is steadily robbing her of everything. Even a simple trip outside, such as visiting the doctor, carries the risk of her losing consciousness and worsening her condition. As a result, Janka spends most of her time confined to bed, unable to do even the simplest activities that might bring her some comfort. Her inactivity has caused her muscles to atrophy; she can barely hold her head up without support.
To make matters worse, she has been left alone in this fight. As her friend, I’ve decided to support her through this incredibly difficult journey. Every day, I witness her pain, fear, and despair. Even a hug is painful for her. She often begs me through tears to end her suffering – something I cannot and will not do, even though this option has been presented to us in Switzerland.
There is no cure for Janka at this time. But we can still bring small moments of joy into her life and help alleviate her suffering. Please, join us in this story of love and hope.
How Your Donations Will Help
Your support can give Janka:
- expensive neurorehabilitation
- trigger point therapy
- a barrier-free home
- a rehabilitation wheelchair (Convaid EZ Rider)
All Janka dreams of is lying on the grass and seeing the blue sky more often – a simple wish stolen by illness. Every day her room is filled with pain and isolation. „My biggest dream is to lie outside and look at flowers and the sun instead of four walls,“ she says. Did you enjoy the beautiful weather today? Let´s help incurably ill Janka, who has been robbed of everything by this terrible disease, experience those precious moments too.
Janka’s story is one of courage and resilience. Your help can show her that she’s not alone in this fight. She needs us now more than ever. Together, we can bring hope back into her life and ease her suffering.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support, generosity, and hope.
With gratitude,
Juraj (her friend)
