Podpořili jste Katku a její děti

Jmenuji se Katka a je mi 47 let. Mám za sebou velice náročné období, kdy od nás odešel otec dětí, zemřela mi mamka a po ní tatínek, a následně jsem dostala rakovinu prsu. Mám za sebou 16 chemoterapií, 30 ozařování a dvě operace, které mě ještě čekají. U onkologické léčby se mi objevila i cukrovka a musím si píchat inzulin 4× denně. Mám poruchu imunity, kdy moje tělo vytváří málo obranných látek, a jsem velmi často nemocná. Bohužel tuto nemoc mají i moje děti a jsou také často nemocné. Měla jsem i popáleniny 2. stupně po ozařování a asi na půl roku mi ochrnula pravá ruka. Jsem sama s dětmi a snažím se jim být i tátou, babičkou a dědou, které nemají. Chtěla bych se dát do pořádku a také vidět vnoučata, to je moje motivace vše zvládnout. Vždy jsem pomáhala dětem, podporovala jsem i děti z dětského domova a trénovala děti, ale teď na tom nejsem zdravotně dobře a potřebovala bych pomoc. 

My name is Katka, and I’m 47 years old.
I’ve been through a very difficult period in my life. The father of my children left us, my mother passed away, and shortly after, my father died too. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve undergone 16 chemotherapy sessions, 30 radiation treatments, and I still have two more surgeries ahead of me.

During my cancer treatment, I also developed diabetes and now have to inject insulin four times a day. I suffer from an immune disorder that causes my body to produce very few antibodies, so I get sick very often. Unfortunately, my children have inherited this illness and are frequently unwell too.

I also suffered second-degree burns from the radiation and lost movement in my right arm for about six months. I’m raising my children alone and trying to be both a mom and a dad to them, as well as a grandmother and grandfather, since they no longer have any of those figures in their lives.

I want to get better, and my greatest motivation is to live to see my grandchildren one day. That’s what keeps me going. I’ve always helped children – I supported kids from children’s homes and coached youth – but now, due to my health, I’m the one who needs help.

Jak jsem psala, moje mamka upadla do cukrovkářského kómatu a už se neprobrala. Po měsíci a půl jí začaly selhávat orgány a museli ji odpojit. Taťka to vše těžce nesl, byl s mamkou přes 50 let a začal hodně pít. Já jsem musela vše kolem řešit, jak s dětmi, tak všechny problémy spojené s alkoholem a tátou, a do toho jsem se starala o miminko a 10letého kluka. Bylo to tak náročné psychicky, protože mi velmi chyběla mamka, co zemřela. Zařizovala jsem vše kolem pohřbu a do toho nešťastného opilého taťku a vzpamatovávala se i z odchodu manžela k jiné ženě. Chtěla jsem vše zvládnout a i u toho pracovala, ale vše se změnilo následnou taťkovou smrtí, kdy jsem opět vše vyřizovala, a mojí onkologickou nemocí, kdy jsem musela všeho nechat a začít se léčit.

Dříve jsem trénovala děti, hodně ráda plavala, jezdila na kole a ráda i cestovala, a najednou bylo vše jinak. Velice jsem se bála,děti mají jen mě, a já vidím, jak mě stále potřebují. Moc ráda bych je i viděla růst a později mít rodiny. Proto jsem se rozhodla vás poprosit o finanční podporu, abych tohle mohla ještě zažít a pracovat na svém zdraví.

As I mentioned, my mother fell into a diabetic coma and never woke up. A month and a half later, her organs began to fail and she had to be taken off life support. My father, who had been with her for over 50 years, couldn’t cope with the loss and began drinking heavily. I had to take care of everything – dealing with my children, my father’s alcohol-related problems, and on top of that, I was caring for a baby and a 10-year-old boy.

It was emotionally exhausting. I missed my mother terribly. I organized the funeral while dealing with my grieving, drunk father and trying to recover from my husband leaving me for another woman. I was working throughout all this, trying to manage everything. But then my father died, and shortly after, I was diagnosed with cancer. At that point, I had to stop everything and start treatment.

Before all this, I used to coach children, I loved swimming, biking, and traveling. Suddenly, all of that was gone. I’ve been so afraid – my children only have me, and I see every day how much they still need me. I truly want to be there for them, to see them grow up and have families of their own.

That’s why I’ve decided to ask for financial help – so I can continue to work on my health and hopefully experience these moments with them.

I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and for any support. The money raised will go toward basic living expenses and housing, buying glasses for myself, and furnishing a bedroom for my son. We don’t even have beds – not me, not my sons. I want to buy furniture for my younger son so he can finally have and enjoy his own room, which he’s been wishing for. Right now, it’s just an empty space.

My older son doesn’t have a bed either. Our washing machine is broken, so we wash clothes wherever we can. We don’t even have a table or chairs in the kitchen.

If more money is raised than I need for these essentials, I would love to support children from children’s homes again – the same kids who sent me drawings and emotional support during my cancer treatment.

Chtěla bych ze srdce všem poděkovat za přečtení i podporu. Vybrané peníze bych použila, jak jsem psala, na základní životní výdaje (zejména potraviny) a bydlení, na koupi brýlí pro sebe a vybavení pokoje pro syna. Nemáme ani postel, já ani syn, ani druhý syn. Koupila bych mu vybavení do dětského pokoje, aby mohl používat vlastní pokojíček, moc si to přál a ten prostor má jen prázdný. Starší syn také nemá postel, pračka je také rozbitá, pereme kde se dá v prádelně, nemáme ani stůl a židle v kuchyni. Kdyby se vybralo víc, než bych na tyto věci potřebovala, s radostí bych zase podpořila děti z dětských domovů, které mi během onkologické léčby posílaly obrázky a podporovaly mě psychicky.
